Ranchi, Feb. 4 -- Jharkhand has been allocated Rs 7,306 crore in the Union Budget 2025-26 to accelerate the development of railways in the state. Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw talking to media persons in Delhi said that in Jharkhand, the average allocation under the last five years of the UPA government was Rs 457 crore. It has now risen by 16 times to Rs 7,302 crore.
Slamming opposition leaders who have been targeting NDA government over poor allocation of funds for Railway projects in State, the Railway Minister said that work on rail projects worth Rs 52,885 crore are on in the state, while 57 stations are being redeveloped.
