New Delhi, Feb. 19 -- Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday attacked Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi and Home Minister (HM) Amit Shah for the midnight decision to select the new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), when the process of selection is being challenged in the Supreme Court (SC).
While Rahul who said it was "disrespectful" and "discourteous" on part of the Centre to ignore his dissent note to the CEC selection panel comprising of PM and HM, the BJP dismissed the Congress leader's criticism and accused the LoP of undermining an elected government's constitutional mandate through "malicious" judicial activism.
