NEW DELHI, Nov. 12 -- Witnessing a surfeit of complaints regarding the construction waste and disposal material, the PWD has chastised its staff for not disposing of the dismantled or construction waste material in the identified dumping sites. The department has also decided to create a separate condition and rules for all the future agreements of projects to curb the disposal of C&D waste in the public and thus creating hazard to the environment.
The decision was taken in the wake of Supreme Court (SC) order, which asked the civic authorities to number measures to control various factor contributing to the pollution in Delhi. The PWD has also issued a memorandum to all the Principal and Chief Engineer regarding this issue.
