KORBA, Feb. 29 -- The Public Works Department (PWD) blacklisted contractor M.K. Gupta and Co. on Wednesday for two years due to the substandard quality of upgradation work of the Chotiya-Chirmiri road in Chhattisgarh's Korba district.
The action was taken after the contractor failed to reply to a show cause notice issued on February 9. The department had sought a reply within 15 days.
Officials said the contractor constructed the route without complying with the quality parameters.
The department also suspended two officials and sent show cause notice to two more involved in the project on Tuesday.
