Chandigarh, Feb. 22 -- In a groundbreaking step towards animal welfare, the Punjab Government has made it mandatory for all dog breeders and pet shops to register under the 'Pashu Bhalai Board Punjab'. The initiative, aimed at curbing cruelty and ensuring ethical treatment of animals, marked a significant shift towards responsible breeding and compassionate pet ownership across the state.
The announcement came after a high-level meeting of the 'Pashu Bhalai Board Punjab', chaired by the state's Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian on Friday at the Livestock Complex, SAS Nagar (Mohali).
