Chandigarh, Dec. 1 -- Twenty-seven more people succumbed to the novel Coronavirus in Punjab on Monday, pushing the state's death toll to 4,807.The mortality rate continued to be at 3.16 percent in the state.As many as 554 fresh cases, reported in the past 24 hours, took the state's infection count to 1,52,091, stated the state's health bulletin.

Of the total 27 deaths, Amritsar reported maximum eight casualties; followed by six in Jalandhar; three in Patiala; two each in Hoshiarpur, Pathankot, Ropar; and one each in Faridkot, Gurdaspur, Ludhiana, and Mansa.

Among the fresh cases, the highest 93 were reported from Mohali, followed by 90 in Ludhiana, 76 in Jalandhar, and 51 each in Amritsar and Patiala. In Hoshiarpur, 46 cases were reported...
