Chandigarh, May 16 -- The ongoing water dispute between Punjab and Haryana intensified once again on Thursday evening during a crucial Technical Committee meeting of the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), as Haryana sharply increased its water demand from 9,525 cusecs to 10,300 cusecs for the upcoming quota period beginning May 21. The demand was flatly rejected by Punjab, which cited both infrastructural limitations and its own pressing water needs.
