India, April 19 -- In what is being hailed as one of the most ambitious rural rejuvenation missions in recent times, the Punjab Government has undertaken a historic campaign to clean, restore, and repurpose over 15,000 village ponds across the state. The initiative aims to correct decades of environmental neglect and breathe new life into Punjab's rural landscape.
Announcing the drive during an extensive field visit to Fatehgarh Sahib district, Punjab's Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Friday said that the campaign marks a turning point in the state's environmental and infrastructural policies.
