Chandigarh, Feb. 28 -- Punjab has launched an aggressive crackdown on the drug menace with the formation of a high-powered Cabinet committee dedicated to eradicating drug abuse and trafficking. Under the 'War on Drugs' campaign, the five-member panel will oversee anti-drug efforts and ensure their effective implementation across the State.
The committee will be chaired by Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and will include Cabinet Ministers - Aman Arora (New and Renewable Energy), Dr Balbir Singh (Health and Family Welfare), Laljit Singh Bhullar (Transport), and Taranpreet Singh Sond (Industries) - as its members. The key responsibility of this panel will be to evaluate on-ground anti-drug initiatives and ensure their success.
