Chandigarh, April 19 -- In a significant development with far-reaching legal and political ramifications, the Punjab Government has decided to extend the detention of radical preacher and Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh under the stringent National Security Act (NSA) for another year - his third consecutive term in preventive custody since April 2023. Despite his status as a sitting Member of Parliament from Punjab's Khadoor Sahib constituency Amritpal will remain lodged in the high-security Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam.
