Chandigarh, May 20 -- Punjab BJP on Monday submitted a detailed memorandum to Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, seeking a CBI inquiry into the tragic Amritsar hooch incident and the alleged links of AAP leaders to the liquor mafia. The delegation, led by Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar, also demanded a probe into the exponential rise in assets of AAP Ministers, MLAs, and their close relatives over the past three years.
Jakhar, speaking to the media outside Raj Bhawan after meeting the Governor, said that Amritsar hooch tragedy was "avoidable" and linked it to the liquor policy introduced by the AAP government in 2022, mirroring the controversial Delhi Excise Policy.
