Chandigarh, April 5 -- With the wheat harvesting season underway, the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has set up a dedicated control room to address electrical hazards that could lead to crop fires. Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on Friday announced that the move aims to prevent fire incidents caused by loose or low-hanging wires and GO switches in wheat fields.
Farmers have been urged to report such electrical issues immediately via toll-free number 1912 or control room numbers 96461-06835 and 96461-06836. They can also WhatsApp pictures of electrical faults to 96461-06836, ensuring swift action.
