India, Dec. 28 -- Dozens of protesters, led by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti, gathered outside Lok Bhavan in Jammu and burned an effigy of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday. The angry protesters also demanded the cancellation of the inaugural MBBS admission list at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME), amid controversy over the merit-based selection process.

When these protests were going on outside the Lok Bhavan, LG Manoj Sinha was attending the 11th Convocation Ceremony of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University in Katra.
