Kolkata, July 16 -- As an apparent mark of the BJP's rising ambitions for Bengal in 2021 Assembly elections Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the State on Friday, State party sources said. Modi's rally will be held at the industrial city of Durgapur, some 180 km from Kolkata. This will be the second Prime Ministerial visit in a matter of two months. Earlier he addressed a public rally at Alipurduar in North Bengal. The Prime Minister's visit assumes importance not only because he is likely to announce a number of projects for the State but also because his meeting will take place barely three days before the Trinamool Congress' mega Martyr Days' rally.
