Sonbhadra, March 12 -- Several initiatives are being implemented to ensure basic amenities for the citizens of Uttar Pradesh. As part of this effort, the Piped Water Scheme has successfully alleviated the water crisis in Dala Bazaar Nagar Panchayat, Sonbhadra, officials said here.

Through this initiative, a 46,953-metre-long pipeline has been laid at a cost of Rs 42.57 crore, providing piped water connections to 3,437 households. For years, the residents of Dala Bazaar Nagar Panchayat in the Sonbhadra district struggled with unsafe drinking water contaminated with fluoride, arsenic, and other toxins, leading to severe health issues such as bone disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, and other waterborne illnesses.
