Jammu, July 2 -- Undeterred by the horrific terror attack in the Baisaran valley of Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives on April 22, several hundred pilgrims from across India gathered at the Jammu-based Yatri Niwas on Tuesday, ready to embark on the annual Amarnath Yatra early Wednesday morning.
The first batch of pilgrims was warmly welcomed at the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu, where unprecedented security measures have been put in place to ensure a safe and seamless pilgrimage.
As devotees, or 'Shiv Bhakts,' waited at the security checkpoint to enter the base camp, the air resonated with chants of "Jai Bhole" and "Har-Har Mahadev," reflecting their unwavering devotion to Lord Shiva.
