New Delhi, May 30 -- Tensions flared in north west Delhi's Vijay Nagar area on Thursday after a group of people allegedly assaulted a man for reportedly selling cow meat at his grocery shop. The incident has sparked a police investigation, and meat samples seized from the shop have been sent for forensic examination to determine the nature of the meat.

According to the police, the case came to light after a 15-year-old boy, a resident of Vijay Nagar, lodged a complaint. He alleged that he had purchased meat for '400 per kilogram from the shop of Chaman Kumar (44), a resident of Kaushik Enclave in Burari. After buying and inspecting the meat, the boy began to suspect that it might be cow meat and informed others in the locality.
