India, Nov. 4 -- The two mainstream political parties-the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), have locked horns over the issue of seeking the transfer of undertrial prisoners from jails outside the Union Territory.

On Monday, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti appeared before the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, urging it to take a humanitarian view and transfer all undertrial prisoners from the Union Territory who are currently lodged in jails outside J-K.
