Ranchi, March 6 -- A major fraud has been uncovered in the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana (JMMSY) in Latehar. Initially, 1.48 lakh beneficiaries were selected, but after an investigation, 42,432 were found to be ineligible and subsequently removed from the list.
The inquiry revealed that several government employees and affluent individuals were wrongfully availing benefits under this scheme. The district administration's investigation exposed that teachers, police personnel, pensioners, Anganwadi workers, and contractual employees were among those misusing the scheme.
