BHOPAL, Feb. 12 -- Health services at the District Jai Prakash Hospital remained paralysed for several hours on Tuesday as outsourced employees staged a sit-in, alleging non-payment of their wages.
Demonstrating employees, including cleaning staff, compounders, OT technicians, and attendants, say they have not received their salaries for the last six months."The last salary we received was before Diwali," says a female sanitation worker at the hospital, on condition of anonymity.
Protesters said that the hospital management and the private company, responsible for sourcing health workers for the hospital, have also not made the mandatory employer contributions to their Provident Fund accounts since 2023.
