RAIPUR, April 9 -- At a time when the whole nation is witnessing a lockdown, the environment-friendly 2980 MW Sipat super thermal power station of the NTPC limited is generating electricity to fulfill the power need of the country.

Taking one more initiative for the welfare of contract-labourers and local needy people, the NTPC-Sipat authorities have started distribution vegetable and grocery on April 8 at the Urja Bhavan, NTPC Sipat.

Food packets were distributed by Padmakumar Rajasekharan, the CGM-Sipat in the presence of Ravishankar Kaul, head of human resources and K Sreelatha, AGM (HR).

Each food packet consists of rice, lentils, cooking oil, potato, onion and salt, an official release said.
