Bhopal, April 20 -- arch and April in Bhopal have never felt quite like this. With temperatures soaring past historic averages and offering little relief even at night, 2025 has pushed the limits of what the city considers a 'normal' summer.
What made it particularly alarming was the abruptness of the change. In just ten days-from March 17 to March 27-Bhopal's minimum temperature jumped from 17.4degC to 25.2degC. Daytime temperatures spiked as well, with March ending on a scorching 40.5degC-several notches higher than the city's usual average for this time of year. The sudden shift left people little time to acclimatise, leading to a noticeable surge in heat-related ailments.
