Lucknow, June 7 -- In view of Bakrid, the Uttar Pradesh Police have stepped up security measures across the State, particularly in sensitive areas, to ensure the festival passes peacefully. Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Krishna has issued strict instructions to all police units, emphasising that no namaz will be allowed on roads and that law and order must be maintained at all costs.
DGP Krishna has directed that no new traditions related to animal sacrifice should be permitted anywhere in the State. He also instructed police officials to ensure that public pathways are not obstructed under any circumstances and to enforce a complete ban on the sacrifice of prohibited animals.
