India, Nov. 18 -- The 67th Executive Committee (EC) meeting of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) on Monday discussed rejuvenation of the Yamuna in Delhi through tapping of untreated sewage from the Jahangirpuri drain. The meeting, chaired by Director General Rajeev Kumar Mital, approved the conveyance of treated sewage from Coronation Pillar STP to the Yamuna.
The Mission, which comes under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, is the nodal body responsible for the abatement of pollution in the Ganga and its tributaries. The experts also considered safe and efficient conveyance of treated sewage to the river and educational public outreach to school children, the official said.
