Bhopal, April 13 -- In a significant move to promote wildlife conservation and eco-tourism, the Madhya Pradesh government has declared a new wildlife sanctuary in Sagar district, naming it Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Abhyaran. The sanctuary, spread over 258.64 square kilometers, was officially notified ahead of the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, to be observed on April 14.
The newly announced sanctuary will encompass forest areas in the North Sagar Forest Division, including parts of Banda and Shahgarh tehsils. It aims to strengthen biodiversity conservation efforts in the region while offering a safe habitat for a wide variety of flora and fauna.
