Garhwa, Oct. 24 -- A 2010 batch IPS officer, Ashwini Kumar Sinha, took charge as the new Superintendent of Police, Garhwa, on Wednesday. Sinha, who previously served as the SP Anti Corruption Bureau, Ranchi, assumed office as the SP of the district. He was given a warm welcome by fellow police personnel.

Sinha said that police will deal strictly with extremists, criminals and anti-social elements. Maintaining law and order is the main duty of the police and the Garhwa police will remain committed to maintain it. On preparations of coming Assembly election he said that his predecessor SP told him that preparations for the election are going well and will be expedited as needed.
