India, Oct. 30 -- In view of the rising pollution levels across Delhi-NCR, the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has doubled the parking fee for all cars and two-wheelers till the revocation of stage-II of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), in the national Capital which has been triggered due to worsening air quality in the capital.
Under the revised structure, parking for four-wheelers will now cost '40 per hour instead of '20, while two-wheelers will be charged '20 per hour. Bus parking fees have been increased from '150 to '300 per hour.
This doubling of parking rates is expected to encourage citizens to rely more on public transport, leading to a reduction in pollution levels amid 'very poor' AQI in Delhi.
