KOCHI, April 8 -- A Muslim League worker was hacked to death and his brother was grievously assaulted allegedly by CPI(M) activists in Kerala's Kannur district within hours of the conclusion of the elections to the State Assembly.

Manzoor who was hacked by a group of persons around 8 pm in front of his house late Tuesday night breathed his last in the wee hours of Wednesday at a corporate hospital in Kozhikode. His brother Mohsin who was injured in the attack has been admitted to a hospital in a critical stage.
