Mumbai, July 11 -- Mumbai's iconic Carnac Bridge of Mumbai - which has been re-constructed after the demolition carried out after the structure was declared undeclared "unsafe and dismantled by the Central Railway in 2022 - has been re-named after the Operation "Sindoor" in the Indian Armed forces' recent "success" against Pakistan.

Speaking after inaugurating the reconstructed Carnac Bridge, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said: "This Carnac Bridge will henceforth be known as Sindoor bridge".

Incidentally, this is the first infrastructure project in India which has been named after Operation Sindoor undertaken by the Indian Armed forces to avenge the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam.
