Bhopal, Aug. 21 -- A major controversy erupted in Tikamgarh on Tuesday after more than forty voter identity cards were found discarded near the official residence of Union Cabinet Minister Dr Virendra Kumar.

What shocked the administration and the public alike was that many of these cards were partly burnt, raising immediate suspicion of a deliberate attempt to destroy evidence. The incident has not only triggered a local inquiry but has also added fuel to the ongoing national debate over "vote theft" that is shaking the country's political landscape.
