India, Dec. 24 -- A mother and her son have been arrested for allegedly assaulting and robbing an elderly woman inside her home in south Delhi's Sunlight Colony area on Monday.

The accused include a 53-year-old domestic help who worked at the victim's house and her 30-year-old son. Police recovered two mobile phones and Rs 10,000 in cash from their possession.

The incident took place on December 13 at a house in Bhagwan Nagar, Ashram. Police said the maid, identified as Sunita, attacked the elderly woman, Narayani Devi, with an iron pan and robbed her of gold and silver jewellery before fleeing with the help of her son, Sagar Chauhan.
