India, Nov. 8 -- A woman and her five-year-old child were rescued from a burning car in southeast Delhi's Govindpuri on Thursday evening.
However, as per the police officials, no one was injured in the incident. Police said the fire broke out around 5.30 pm when the woman's Mercedes-Benz suddenly caught fire while waiting at a red light near the Tara Apartment crossing.
A distress call was made to the control room as smoke started billowing from the vehicle. A team of local police and traffic personnel reached the spot immediately.
"Showing remarkable courage and presence of mind, the team rescued a 38-year-old woman, a resident of Kalkaji Extension, and her child from the burning vehicle," a senior police officer said.
