Shimla, July 5 -- Rain fury, flash floods, cloudburst and landslides since the onset of the monsoons have left forty-three people dead and at least 37 missing in Himachal Pradesh. Talking to the media on Friday, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu pegged the losses at about Rs 700 crore, adding that the details are pouring in. He announced that Rs 5,000 per month would be given as house rent to the families lodged in relief camps, as their houses were damaged. He further said that the disaster caused by the torrential rains has claimed 69 lives so far, with 110 people injured and 37 still missing. He said very soon he would visit the affected areas again.
