Bhopal, June 22 -- After weeks of sweltering heat, the monsoon has swept across Madhya Pradesh in dramatic fashion, bringing much-needed relief-but also triggering widespread flooding, traffic disruption, and tragic incidents across the state. Within just five days, all 55 districts of Madhya Pradesh have come under the grip of the southwest monsoon, which advanced at an unusually rapid pace, causing intense rainfall and overflowing rivers.

In the past 24 hours, more than 30 districts reported significant rainfall, with Guna district receiving the highest at 2.5 inches.
