New Delhi, June 30 -- Light to moderate rain lashed several parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) on Sunday, marking the official onset of the southwest monsoon in the national capital.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) confirmed the advancement of the monsoon and issued a yellow alert for the city, forecasting more showers in the coming days.

Intermittent rainfall throughout the day caused disruptions across Delhi, particularly affecting traffic movement. Waterlogging was reported in several low-lying areas, slowing down vehicular flow and causing congestion on major roads. The rainfall began in the early hours and resumed again in the evening, aggravating the situation for commuters.
