Ranchi/Jamshedpur, June 18 -- The southwest monsoon made its much anticipated entry into Jharkhand on Tuesday, June 17, covering 18 out of the 24 districts and bringing immediate relief from the persistent heat. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the remaining parts comprising Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra and some parts of Latehar, Hazaribagh and Koderma are likely to be covered in the next 1 to 2 days.
The normal date for the onset of the rainy season for Jharkhand is June 15. Though late by two days, monsoon arrived with early morning showers in various parts of the State with rainfall activity expected to intensify in the coming days.
