Jamshedpur, March 12 -- A significant demand for the welfare of Jharkhand's home guards was raised in the State Assembly as Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar called for equal pay and facilities for home guards, similar to police personnel. Addressing the House during Zero Hour, the legislator emphasized that home guards play a crucial role in maintaining law and order in both rural and urban areas but continue to be deprived of fair wages and benefits.
Citing the Supreme Court's directive on "equal pay for equal work," MLA Sardar urged the government to take immediate steps to ensure home guards receive salaries and benefits at par with police personnel.
