Bhopal, Aug. 28 -- A confrontation between BJP MLA Narendra Singh Kushwaha and Bhind District Collector Sanjeev Srivastava has spiraled into a major political controversy, with the opposition seizing on the incident to attack the ruling BJP over farmer distress and the conduct of its legislators.
The incident unfolded on Tuesday when Kushwaha, angered over complaints of fertiliser shortages, stormed into the collector's residence accompanied by his supporters. Eyewitnesses said the MLA accused the collector of corruption, calling him "the biggest thief," and in the middle of the heated exchange, even raised his hand as if to strike the officer.
