Lucknow, Feb. 9 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a decisive victory in the Milkipur Assembly by-election in Uttar Pradesh, but the result has sparked controversy, with the main Opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) alleging misuse of election machinery.
Reacting to the defeat, SP chief and Lok Sabha MP Akhilesh Yadav claimed that electoral "fraud" was possible in a single seat but would not be feasible across all 403 Assembly constituencies in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh elections. "This victory is a lie, and the BJP will never be able to celebrate it fully. Their guilt and fear of defeat will give them sleepless nights," Yadav wrote in a post on X.
