Ranchi, Feb. 25 -- The MGNREGA wage rate will be increased in Jharkhand, due to which workers will get more wages for less hard work. Under the new standards, wages will now be paid for digging 53 CFT of soil instead of 73 CFT, while the national standard is set at 48 CFT.
This change has been confirmed by senior officials of the Rural Development Department of the Jharkhand government. Recently, the state government had demanded from the central government to increase the MNREGA wage rate, which was also raised in the meeting with the Union Minister. The central government has approved this proposal, which will benefit the workers of Jharkhand.
