Jammu, April 8 -- Chief of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has now thrown her hat in the poll arena by deciding to contest the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat.

The prestigious seat, which may witness a quadruple contest, is set to become the main battleground of all the political parties. The constituency will go to polls in the third phase on May 7, 2024.

So far National Conference has given its mandate to one of the tallest Gujjar leaders and five-time party MLA Mian Altaf Ahmed. Another former Chief Minister and Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad is also in the fray.
