India, Nov. 29 -- The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has announced a comprehensive Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme to curb the rising population of stray dogs and prevent the spread of rabies in the city. As part of this initiative, the civic body has approved a large-scale sterilisation and mass vaccination drive to be carried out over the next two years.

The programme, scheduled from November 29, 2025, to November 28, 2027, has been assigned to Maa Baglamukhi Sewa Samiti, Jabalpur. According to the official order, the agency will be paid Rs 700 per dog for sterilisation and Rs 250 per dog for mass vaccination/immunisation.
