Gurugram, Feb. 8 -- he CGST Gurugram Commissionerate, leveraging data analytics through GST Prime and the E-way Bill portal, has uncovered a massive tax fraud syndicate involving multiple fake firms.
The operation revealed that GST registrations were obtained using forged documents, with several firms linked by the same registered mobile number.
A detailed investigation pointed to Yogesh Gupta as the mastermind behind the fraudulent network. Gupta had created and operated 12 firms under the names of different proprietors and directors.
These entities were involved in issuing fake invoices without the actual supply of goods, covering a taxable value of Rs 312.83 Crore and fraudulently claiming Input Tax Credit (ITC) worth Rs 37.54 Crore....
