BHOPAL, Jan. 31 -- he city marked Martyrs' Day on Thursday with a two-minute silence at schools, colleges, and private and government offices and institutions as a tribute to those who laid down their lives in service of the nation.
A two-minute silence was observed at both the Collectorate and Divisional Commissioner's offices, honoring the sacrifices made by those who fought for India's independence.
At the Collectorate Office, Additional District Magistrate Prakash Nayak, Deputy Collector Ajay Sharma, and other staff members participated in the tribute. Likewise, Joint Commissioner Vinod Yadav and staff at the Divisional Commissioner's office paid their respects.
