MALKANGIRI, Nov. 27 -- Hardcore Maoist cadre Kishore was gunned down and another sustained injuries in an exchange of fire with security forces in a forest in Malkangiri district on Thursday.There were no reports of any casualty or injury to police personnel in the encounter.
Receiving inputs, paramilitary and police personnel launched a combing operation in the Jantri forest of Swabhiman Anchal of the district early in the day. As the security personnel approached their hideout, the red rebels opened fire and a gun battle ensued, leading to the death of one Maoist. Another Maoist has been injured in the operation, said Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay.
