ROURKELA, Jan. 16 -- The Court of Additional District Judge-I here on Friday sentenced a person to life imprisonment for killing his five-year-old son in 2019. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on convict Hunda Oram of Bondamunda. In the case of nonpayment of the fine, he would have to undergo an additional imprisonment of one year. Hunda had murdered his son on June 24, 2019 by slitting the child's throat with a knife as he was suspecting that the boy was not his child biologically.
Police had later arrested Hunda and forwarded him to court.As many as 14 witnesses were cross-examined during the trial.
