New Delhi, June 5 -- Citing Islamic solidarity, Pakistan tried to derail the visit of the Indian delegation on Operation Sindoor to Malaysia. Turning down Islamabad's request, Malaysia gave approval to the 9-member delegation to organise all the 10 proposed programmes. Sources said Islamabad tried to play the religion card and cited the "Kashmir matter in the UN" while seeking the cancellation of Operation Sindoor outreach programmes.

"We are an Islamic country, you are an Islamic country... don't listen to the Indian delegation, cancel all their programmes in Malaysia," Pakistan embassy reportedly told the Malaysian Government officials.
