Jamshedpur, Feb. 10 -- In a significant crackdown on illegal poppy cultivation, Seraikela-Kharsawan Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Lunayet led an operation to eradicate poppy plantations spread across 19 acres in the district. The police utilized drone technology for precise identification of the illegal crops.

The large-scale operation was conducted in Kuchai, Dalbhanga, and Ichagarh areas, resulting in the arrest of three individuals involved in the illicit farming.

Acting on a tip-off, a special police team, led by SP Lunayet, deployed drone cameras to accurately locate poppy plantations before launching the raid. This marked a modern and strategic approach to combating illegal cultivation in the region.
