Jamshedpur, May 13 -- In a decisive move to curb irregularities in welfare schemes, District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum, Ananya Mittal, has ordered an immediate investigation into suspected fraudulent beneficiaries under the 'Maiya Samman Yojana'. The order follows alarming findings in a preliminary review that revealed multiple beneficiaries linked to single bank account numbers, a clear violation of scheme guidelines.
A staggering 2,912 beneficiaries have been identified with potential duplications or suspicious links. This includes alarming figures from several zones and blocks: 390 in Jamshedpur Zone, 388 in Golmuri-cum-Jugsalai, 300 in Mango Zone, 573 in Potka, and 271 in Ghatshila, among others.
