Mumbai, May 30 -- In a development that will give a push to the much-discussed Dharavi Redevelopment Project, the Maharashtra Government has cleared a master plan to re-develop slums in Asia's large slum. The master plan - which will lay a "strong emphasis on the sensitive, all-inclusive eco-friendly re-development of Dharavi that will preserve the unique identity of the sprawling 620 acre slum structure - was approved at a review meeting held at the state-run Sahyadri guest house on Wednesday.
